The Spotify for Authors (SFA) platform is a cutting-edge web application designed to empower publishers, authors, and narrators to manage their catalogs, track performance, and distribute content on Spotify. With a growing user base of 100,000, the platform requires skilled engineers who can build and evolve features end-to-end, leveraging React, TypeScript, and Java to drive innovation.The SFA team operates with a 'short toes' philosophy, emphasizing collaboration, quality, and creativity. As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for driving technical direction, mentoring team members, and contributing to the development of effective AI-assisted practices. Your expertise will be instrumental in solving scalability, reliability, and performance challenges as the platform continues to grow.

What You Will Do
- Build and evolve features end-to-end across a React/TypeScript frontend and Java backend services
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools for code generation, automated testing, and AI-powered code review
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to ship impactful experiences for audiobook creators
- Author and collaborate on technical RFCs to document approaches and architectural trade-offs
- Contribute to technical direction and help shape how the team builds within the SFA product area
- Support and grow the team through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and thoughtful communication
- Design and operate distributed systems and microservices architectures
- Break ambiguous problems into clear, executable milestones and bias toward shipping
- Participate in modern infrastructure practices, including CI/CD, containers, and cloud platforms
- Focus on observability and monitoring to ensure the platform's reliability and performance
