Job Description

About the Role

Mozilla is seeking a highly skilled Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join its Web Services Team, responsible for building and maintaining the accounts and email services that power its suite of communication tools. As a senior engineer, you will contribute to the development of new features and solutions to tackle complex technical challenges, ensuring that Mozilla's email systems are scalable, reliable, and user-friendly. You will work closely with designers, engineers, and community members to develop and maintain user-facing features and help diagnose and resolve email issues at scale.

The role entails a strong focus on web development, infrastructure, and service architecture, with a passion for delivering quality to customers and a natural ability to think about products from the user's perspective. You will be part of a small but growing team of 50+ people distributed across seven countries, working collaboratively to build technology that puts users first.

What You Will Do

  • Build and prototype new features and solutions to tackle complex technical challenges
  • Develop and maintain metrics to monitor email delivery rates and sender reputation, and diagnose service-level issues
  • Monitor email industry standards, trends, and emerging threats, and propose improvements to strengthen delivery, reputation, and spam resilience
  • Develop, test, and evolve the code architecture to ensure scalability, maintainability, and reliability
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and community members to develop and maintain user-facing features
  • Help diagnose and resolve email issues at scale
  • Lead feature development from an ambiguous project statement to a concrete plan and implementation
  • Work autonomously to deliver high-quality results
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the team's codebase
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest email industry standards and trends
