About the Role
The Senior Full Stack Engineer, Integrations VistA, will play a critical role in supporting the expansion of abridge's AI-powered platform, designed to improve clinical documentation efficiencies in healthcare. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling integrations that power the product, working closely with cross-functional teams to deploy, troubleshoot, and support these integrations. With a strong focus on security, privacy, and quality, you will collaborate with health system customers to ensure seamless integration of abridge's technology.Day-to-day, you will work alongside engineers, implementation specialists, support, and product managers to build real-time and batch data integrations with partners and clients. Your expertise in full stack development, particularly in VistA integrations, will be instrumental in driving the growth and adoption of abridge's platform.
What You Will Do
- Build robust healthcare integrations without compromising security, privacy, or quality
- Scale up the business by designing, building, and supporting integrations and infrastructure
- Collaborate closely with health system customers to deploy, troubleshoot, and support integrations
- Enhance existing systems to add new functionality, and to improve performance, stability, quality, and security
- Advocate for high standards; make quality-of-life improvements to the codebase; add documentation and share knowledge
- Help limit the growth of technical debt
- Build deep user empathy and maintain a user-centric mindset
- Communicate regularly and effectively within and on behalf of cross-functional product delivery teams
- Work with other disciplines, including design, product, machine learning, and infrastructure
- Have opportunities to learn from and contribute to projects across the company
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience launching business-critical integrations with large enterprises
- 2+ years of VistA Integration experience
- Experience with mPage Workflow components, Dynamic Documentation, and CCL
- Experience working with technologies such as REST-like APIs (FHIR), OAuth2.0, mTLS
- Excitement about working on abridge's tech stack, which includes NodeJS/TypeScript and Google Cloud Platform
- Passionate about working in healthcare integrations
- Ability to act with autonomy & self-direction while working well in a team environment
- Willingness to pitch in wherever needed
- Strong communication with internal and external stakeholders
Nice to Have
- 2+ years of experience working with healthcare data integrations
- Experienced in delivering integrations with EHRs like Oracle Health/VistA and others
- Familiarity with one or more of the following technologies: FHIR, HL7, X12
