About the Role
As a Senior Full Stack Software Development Engineer at Zillow, you will play a crucial role in leading the delivery and ongoing support of projects from end-to-end. You will be working closely with the US tech teams to simplify and automate the buying, selling, and renting experience for users in Mexico. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for software development, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work autonomously.The role involves contributing to the design of new features, reviewing the code of peers, advocating for standard methodologies, and facilitating engineering discussions. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and participating in an inclusive, energetic, and highly multi-functional team.
What You Will Do
- Contribute to the design of new features and review the code of peers
- Advocate for standard methodologies and facilitate engineering discussions
- Mentor junior engineers and participate in an inclusive, energetic, and highly multi-functional team
- Lead the delivery and ongoing support of projects from end-to-end
- Collaborate with the US tech teams to simplify and automate the buying, selling, and renting experience
- Develop and maintain front-end user interfaces and back-end software systems using modern development technologies
- Design, deliver, debug, and maintain APIs and services using Python, Java, NodeJS, and Go
- Implement effective solutions quickly and participate in persistent problem-solving
- Work with a range of persistence strategies, including relational and non-relational databases
- Collaborate with the team to raise the bar for systems design, testing, code quality, and maintainability
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of software development experience with ES6, React, Typescript, and GraphQL
- Experience with a range of persistence strategies, including relational and non-relational databases
- Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken)
- Must be authorized to work in Mexico
- Highly skilled with multiple modern development technologies used to design, deliver, debug, and maintain front-end user interfaces and back-end software systems
- Recognized as a technical leader on your team for several years and have an impact beyond your team
- Passionate about setting standard methodologies and raising the bar for systems design, testing, code quality, and maintainability
- Experience with Excel and other productivity tools
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS or other cloud-based technologies
- Knowledge of containerization using Docker
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI
- Experience with automated testing and continuous integration
