Senior Fullstack Engineer - PHP/Laravel

Day-to-day, the role will entail designing, developing, and maintaining features across the full stack, from React/Next.js and NestJS middleware to PHP Laravel services. This includes contributions to the migration of legacy systems to new platforms, defining scalable architecture patterns, and integrating AI-powered tools to accelerate development. Collaboration in a remote-first environment is crucial, requiring proactive communication, documentation of decisions, and participation in technical discussions.

The team's focus on travel tech, particularly in online booking engines, group travel, and eCommerce, means the Senior Fullstack Engineer will need to apply their travel/hospitality domain knowledge to inform product decisions, data models, and integrations. Supporting UX/UI discussions where technical constraints intersect with user experience will also be part of the role, ensuring that the developed solutions meet both business and user needs.

## What You Will Do - Design, develop, and maintain features across the full stack: React/Next.js, NestJS middleware, and PHP Laravel services (Admin, Payments, SSO, Product Vault).

• Contribute to the migration of the legacy Node.js API Gateway (AWS Lambda) to the new NestJS-based platform with Redis and message queues.
• Define and implement scalable architecture patterns for both backend services and frontend components.
• Integrate and leverage AI-powered tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) to accelerate development and support internal workflows.
• Collaborate proactively in a remote-first environment: communicate blockers, document decisions, participate in technical discussions.
• Contribute to DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, containerization, infrastructure as code.
• Apply travel/hospitality domain knowledge to inform product decisions, data models, and integrations.
• Support UX/UI discussions where technical constraints intersect with user experience.
• Ensure the development of clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using tools such as Pest and/or PHPUnit.
• Diagnose and resolve production incidents, system failures, and performance issues while minimizing downtime.

## What We Are Looking For - 5-7 years of experience in full-stack development, with expertise in travel tech (online booking engines, group travel, eCommerce).

• Strong experience developing and maintaining modular PHP Laravel applications, including hands-on experience with Livewire and Filament.
• Experience integrating external hotel availability suppliers such as HBSI, Expedia, or similar travel industry APIs.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL, including writing migrations, optimizing query performance, and managing relational databases.
• Comfort working with Docker-based local development environments and contributing to infrastructure and deployment workflows.
• Experience with AWS services such as ECS, RDS, S3, and deployment pipelines.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Confidence in diagnosing and resolving production incidents, system failures, and performance issues.
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub, including commits, branches, pull requests, and collaborative development.

## Nice to Have - Experience with React and Tailwind CSS for frontend development.
