Senior Fullstack Engineer (Ruby+React)

About the Role

The role entails working on a Rails monolith of meaningful size, with a focus on delivering scalable and efficient digital products. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and will be able to pick up tickets independently. The team is self-directed, and the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the client team to deliver high-quality products.

What You Will Do

• Work on a Rails monolith of meaningful size, delivering scalable and efficient digital products
• Develop and maintain Ruby on Rails and React applications, ensuring high-quality code and best practices
• Collaborate with the client team to understand requirements and deliver high-quality products
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions
• Work with Postgres and Redis in a caching or background-job context
• Use ActionCable/AnyCable, Stream.io, or Pusher to deliver real-time updates
• Present work directly to the client team, ensuring clear and effective communication
• Participate in agile development methodologies, ensuring iterative and incremental delivery
• Collaborate with the development team to identify and prioritize project requirements

What We Are Looking For

• 7+ years of full-stack engineering experience, with a focus on Ruby on Rails and React
• Substantial production work in Ruby on Rails and React, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality products
• Experience working with Postgres and Redis in a caching or background-job context
• Strong understanding of React, with experience working on production apps
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present work directly to clients
• Self-directed and able to pick up tickets independently, with minimal supervision
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality products
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Experience with agile development methodologies, with a focus on iterative and incremental delivery

Nice to Have

• Experience working with other programming languages, such as JavaScript or Python
• Familiarity with containerization using Docker, with experience deploying applications to cloud platforms
• Experience working with cloud-based services, such as AWS or Google Cloud
• Certification in Ruby on Rails or React, with a focus on best practices and industry standards
• Experience working in a remote team, with a focus on effective communication and collaboration
