About the Role
The Senior GCP DevOps Engineer role is a critical position at Spectrum It Recruitment, responsible for streamlining software delivery pipelines, enhancing reliability, performance, and scalability of systems, and driving continuous improvement across the software lifecycle. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation of the company's digital marketplace. The company is on a mission to put itself at the forefront of digital marketplace consumer services, and this role will play a significant part in achieving that goal. In this role, you will be working in a fast-moving, fast-thinking environment, where everyone contributes and makes an impact. You will need to be experienced, or at least comfortable, working in a startup-style environment, with a strong focus on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.What You Will Do
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure on GCP
- Develop and maintain Terraform and Ansible scripts for automation and deployment
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters, including building containers and deploying via CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with development teams to identify and prioritize infrastructure needs
- Develop and implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system reliability and performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, including system outages and performance degradation
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems
- Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure, including architecture diagrams and technical guides
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations
What We Are Looking For
- Senior-level technical capability with strong problem-solving skills
- Proven experience with GCP as either a DevOps Engineer or SRE
- A good depth of experience using Terraform and Ansible
- A strong knowledge of Kubernetes cluster, building containers, deploying via CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to think commercially, including cost of scaling vs utilization of existing infrastructure
- Experience working in a fast-paced, startup-style environment
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Nginx, PHP, MySQL
- Knowledge of NoSQL solutions, RabbitMQ, SOLR, Couchbase
- Good understanding of networking concepts and solutions
- Ability to work with, devise, and implement CI/CD pipelines and practices
