About the Role
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Iterable, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of customer engagement. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on this team, you will have the opportunity to work on complex technical problems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the development of Iterable's infrastructure. Your expertise in Kubernetes and AWS will be essential in driving the evolution of EKS lifecycle, multi-tenant isolation, and regional consistency.

What You Will Do
- Use your Kubernetes and AWS expertise to evolve EKS lifecycle, multi-tenant isolation, and regional consistency, ensuring clusters remain secure, performant, and predictable as the company scales.
- Improve reliability and cost by identifying areas of waste (storage, compute) and implementing optimization strategies.
- Improve automation of the Elasticsearch cluster management system (shard management, data retention, indexing, cross-cluster re-balancing).
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to bring next-generation marketing solutions to the platform.
- Work closely with the Product and Design teams to understand customer needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
- Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to the development of the company's engineering culture.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth and development of the team.
- Identify and prioritize areas for improvement in the company's infrastructure and develop plans to address them.
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience building and operating large-scale, cloud-native systems (SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles).
- Deep production experience with Kubernetes (controllers, CRDs, Helm/Kustomize, autoscaling, security context).
- Experience managing Infrastructure-as-Code at scale (Terraform).
- Strong software engineering skills in Java or Python; ability to read/extend code in other languages when needed.
- Demonstrated leadership: mentoring peers, driving cross-functional projects, and contributing to the development of the company's engineering culture.
- Experience with Elasticsearch and automation of cluster management systems.
- Strong understanding of security and compliance principles and experience implementing them in a cloud-native environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with other cloud providers (GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker).
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (Git).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
