About the Role

The Senior Insurance Product Analyst role at GEICO is a critical component of the company's success, focusing on analyzing complex business problems and key performance metrics to inform strategic decisions. As a key member of the Commercial Auto Insurance Product Management team, you'll work closely with peers, management, and partners across the business unit to develop and implement solutions that drive growth and improvement. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve analyzing sales, claims experience, and other key business metrics to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.

What You Will Do

  • Develop, prepare, and interpret statistical analyses of insurance sales, claims experience, and other key business metrics to support strategic decisions
  • Employ basic statistical techniques to model underwriting and pricing business practices
  • Present analysis and proposals to various stakeholder groups to help solve business problems
  • Work closely with partners across the business unit to develop and implement solutions
  • Analyze complex business problems and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and maintain databases and data systems to support business decisions
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, applying this knowledge to drive business growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new products and initiatives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including management, peers, and partners
  • Identify and prioritize business needs, developing solutions to address these needs

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Math, Statistics, Data/Business Analytics, or other relevant quantitative field of study
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with data analysis software like R, SAS, Python, or Power BI
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent priorities and provide accurate and timely results
  • Intellectual curiosity to learn and ability to ask insightful questions
  • Previous experience in auto insurance, with Commercial Auto experience being a plus

Nice to Have

  • Experience with machine learning or predictive modeling
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and tools
  • Certification in data analysis or a related field
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
