About the Role

The Senior Lead, Tech and Product Communications role at Ramp is a unique opportunity for a skilled communications professional to own the technical and product narrative for a fast-growing company at the intersection of AI and finance. This role entails developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that resonates with both technical and financial audiences, including AI-native builders and finance leaders. The successful candidate will be a strong writer, strategist, and collaborator who can work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Marketing.

As a key member of the Communications team, the Senior Lead will report to the Head of Communications and will be responsible for shaping the story of what Ramp builds, how it builds it, and why it matters for businesses and the economy. This role requires a deep understanding of AI, technical writing, and strategic communications, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including journalists, creators, and analysts.

What You Will Do

  • Own Ramp's technical and product narrative, including the story of what we build, how we build it, and why it matters for businesses and the economy.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that resonates with both technical and financial audiences.
  • Take complex technical work, such as AI infrastructure and engineering velocity, and turn it into stories that engineers want to share and CFOs actually understand.
  • Build and run a launch engine with Product, Engineering, and Marketing that moves as fast as we ship.
  • Build your own AI tools and workflows for yourself and the team to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Get Ramp into the right rooms and the right publications, and build relationships with key journalists, creators, and analysts.
  • Work with Communications and Brand to make product news memorable via written, visual, and video formats.
  • Prepare executives and subject matter experts for media and speaking engagements.
  • Develop and execute an analyst relations program that earns strong positioning in our core categories and gets us into new ones.
  • Develop real relationships with key analysts and firms, and prepare leadership for analyst interactions with sharp materials and messaging.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in tech and product communications, with a focus on AI-native companies or high-growth startups.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to take complex technical concepts and turn them into engaging narratives.
  • Experience building and executing comprehensive communications strategies that resonate with both technical and financial audiences.
  • Strong understanding of AI and its applications in finance, as well as the ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Marketing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with AI tools and workflows, and the ability to build your own tools and workflows as needed.
  • Strong relationships with key journalists, creators, and analysts in the tech and finance industries.
