About the Role
The Senior Manager, Engagement Management role at Gitlab is a strategic position that combines sales leadership, team management, and strategic partnership development to drive Professional Services Sales and team success across Gitlab's enterprise and commercial customer portfolio. This role is crucial in scaling GitLab's professional services business in Europe and Asia markets. As a senior leader, you will be accountable for regional PS bookings targets while leading a team of Engagement Managers who drive professional services sales through a sales overlay model.The successful candidate will develop and execute strategies to expand and accelerate time to value across a broad portfolio of clients, working closely with Sales Leadership and Customer Success to ensure a seamless customer experience. This role requires a deep understanding of the tech industry, as well as the ability to navigate complex sales environments and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

What You Will Do
- Develop and execute sales strategies to drive professional services sales growth across Europe and Asia markets
- Lead a team of Engagement Managers, providing coaching, guidance, and support to ensure team success
- Collaborate with Sales Leadership and Customer Success to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing relationships
- Analyze sales performance data, identifying trends and areas for improvement and developing strategies to address these gaps
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to drive sales growth and innovation
- Develop and manage sales forecasts, pipelines, and reports, ensuring accuracy and transparency
- Identify and mitigate sales risks, developing contingency plans to ensure sales targets are met
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product, and Customer Success, to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in sales leadership, team management, and strategic partnership development
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and team success in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment
- Strong understanding of the tech industry, including DevSecOps platforms and emerging technologies
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Strategic thinker, with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies that drive growth and innovation
- Experience with sales overlay models, with the ability to navigate complex sales environments and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze sales performance data and develop strategies to address gaps
