About the Role

The Senior Manager, Executive Compensation at Affirm is a pivotal role that will drive the strategy, design, governance, and execution of the company's executive compensation programs. This includes base salary structures, annual incentives, and equity programs, all aimed at supporting business growth, attracting and retaining top talent, and fostering a high-performance culture. The successful candidate will be part of the People team, which is dedicated to creating a workplace where all employees can thrive and contribute meaningfully.

As a key member of the People team, the Senior Manager will work closely with senior leaders to align compensation programs with business priorities, operational goals, values, and culture. This role requires a deep understanding of compensation practices, market trends, and economic conditions to develop recommendations that support both talent and business objectives. The ability to partner effectively with stakeholders across People, Finance, Legal, and business leadership is crucial for driving successful program implementation and solving complex compensation challenges.

The Senior Manager will also lead the ongoing evaluation, enhancement, and administration of executive compensation programs to ensure market competitiveness, scalability, and operational effectiveness. This involves analyzing market trends and compensation practices to inform program design and ensuring that all programs are governed and administered efficiently.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the strategy, design, governance, and execution of Affirm's executive compensation programs.
  • Partner with senior leaders to align compensation programs with business priorities, operational goals, values, and culture.
  • Conduct market analyses and compensation benchmarking to inform program design and ensure competitiveness.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and consultants to stay abreast of market trends and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Compensation Operations to ensure efficient program delivery, administration, and governance.
  • Analyze and interpret complex compensation data to inform business decisions and program design.
  • Develop communication and education strategies to enable leaders and employees to understand and leverage compensation programs effectively.
  • Oversee compensation tools, systems, and processes to improve data quality, efficiency, and employee experience.
  • Lead executive compensation analyses and support the preparation of materials for Compensation Committee, Board, and executive leadership reviews.

What We Are Looking For

  • 12+ years of compensation experience, including significant experience designing and managing broad-based and executive compensation programs.
  • Demonstrated success leading increasingly complex compensation initiatives and influencing senior business leaders.
  • Deep expertise across compensation strategy, market benchmarking, incentive design, executive compensation, governance, and program administration.
  • Experience supporting executive compensation programs, Board or Compensation Committee processes, proxy-related activities, or other governance requirements.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders across People, Finance, Legal, and business leadership.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with the ability to translate philosophy into scalable operational solutions.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including expert-level proficiency in Excel and experience building complex compensation models, scenario analyses, and large-scale workforce analyses.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with modern analytics, data, and AI-enabled tools to drive insights and improve efficiency.
  • Certification in compensation, such as CCP (Certified Compensation Professional).
  • Experience in the fintech or financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of equity compensation practices and principles.
