About the Role
The Senior Manager, Machine Learning position is a critical part of Twilio's Conversation Memory team, focusing on developing foundational platform capabilities for the next generation of conversational AI. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic direction, and leadership skills. The role reports to the leadership team and will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business problems into clear, prioritized product roadmaps. Your ability to establish a high-performing engineering setup, foster a culture of excellence, and communicate progress to leadership will be key to success.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders to develop a clear, prioritized ML product roadmap
- Contribute hands-on technical expertise to the development of platform features
- Establish a high-performing engineering setup for rapid iteration, experimentation, and deployment of models
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, tooling, and infrastructure to optimize for velocity, quality, and maintainability
- Monitor the ML and AI landscape to ensure the team is up-to-speed on state-of-the-art research and techniques
- Recruit, manage, and develop a diverse and highly-skilled team of Machine Learning Engineers
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact and success of the team's ML products
- Manage project timelines, dependencies, and risks to ensure timely delivery of projects
- Work closely with product and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous business problems into clear product roadmaps
