About the Role
The Senior Manager, Presales Engineering role is a technical leadership position that requires expertise in cloud communication platforms and presales engineering. As a key member of the go-to-market team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize business-critical customer engagement use cases with Twilio products. You will report to the Presales Engineering Director, EMEA, and lead a team of presales engineers covering the DACH subregion.The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the CPaaS and communications space, as well as experience in building and leading high-performing teams. You will be responsible for setting the technical strategy and forecast, determining the role of presales engineers in accelerating new sign-ups, and deploying the team most effectively.
What You Will Do
- Partner with the Sales leadership team to set strategy for finding, closing, and supporting opportunities in the sales funnel and existing customer base
- Work across functions to ensure collaboration for shared goals and appropriate capacity for your team
- Build and roll out programs that enable presales engineers to scalably accelerate the sales funnel
- Attract, develop, and motivate a team of highly skilled and talented presales engineers
- Lead the technical strategy and technical forecast, determining the role of presales engineers in accelerating new sign-ups
- Measure and communicate results, using data to make decisions
- Set clear expectations for your team, remove obstacles, and actively communicate tradeoffs to stakeholders
- Engage with Product, Support, Sales, Operations, Legal, Security, Engineering, and other departments as necessary to make customers successful on the platform
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in presales engineering or a related field
- Strong technical background in cloud communication platforms, AI, and CPaaS solutions
- Experience in building and leading high-performing teams
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong understanding of the sales process and customer engagement strategies
- Experience with data analysis and metrics-driven decision making
Nice to Have
- Experience with Twilio products and services
- Knowledge of the DACH subregion market and customer base
- Certification in presales engineering or a related field
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Fluency in multiple languages
