Job Description

About the Role

The Senior Manager, R&D Data Steward role is a key position at BeiGene, responsible for leading the stewardship of critical Pharma R&D data domains. This includes ensuring data quality, compliance, and usability across the research and development value chain. As a leader in this role, you will be responsible for mentoring a team of data stewards and partnering closely with governance, data product, and business domain leaders.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of data governance principles and a proven track record of leading teams to achieve data quality and compliance goals. You will be a strategic thinker, able to drive the development of a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the establishment and maintenance of a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
  • Mentor a team of data stewards assigned to support multiple R&D domains
  • Define stewardship roles, workflows, and accountability to ensure clear ownership of data entities, business metadata, and processes
  • Act as an escalation point for complex data issues, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with governance policies
  • Operationalize data governance policies, standards, and SOPs in partnership with the governance team
  • Define, maintain, and curate business metadata within a data catalog
  • Monitor and enforce data quality, completeness, and accuracy across operational systems and data products
  • Ensure data and metadata are managed in compliance with internal and external standards
  • Define and track domain-specific data quality metrics; coordinate remediation with data engineering and business partners
  • Establish root-cause analysis and preventive action processes to reduce recurring data issues

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or a related field
  • Proven experience in leading teams and driving data-driven insights
  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles and frameworks
  • Experience with data quality metrics and reporting
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Adjust and Excel
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., computer science, mathematics, statistics)
