About the Role
The Senior Manager, Strategic Finance role at Affirm is a critical position that will drive the company's financial strategy and inform key decisions. As a leader in the Strategic Finance team, you will partner with senior stakeholders to directly influence revenue, unit economics, and user growth within the Consumer business. Your expertise in financial planning, forecasting, and performance management will be essential in shaping the company's strategy and driving growth. You will operate as a thought partner to senior leadership, owning critical workstreams across planning, forecasting, and performance management.The Strategic Finance team plays a central role in shaping company strategy, enabling executive decision-making, and driving performance against key objectives. As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for driving clarity in ambiguous situations, influencing key decisions, and helping to scale the business efficiently and profitably.
The company's Consumer business, which includes the Affirm Card, App, and Marketplace, is a high-priority investment area. As a strategic finance leader, you will be responsible for supporting the growth of this business and driving revenue growth.
What You Will Do
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to Product, Growth Analytics, Credit, Revenue, and Merchant Pricing, influencing product strategy, investment decisions, and go-to-market execution
- Own and evolve user growth, engagement, and monetization models for direct-to-consumer channels; translate insights into actionable strategies and business recommendations
- Develop deep expertise in transactional unit economics and customer lifetime value (LTV), and use these frameworks to guide prioritization and resource allocation
- Lead top-line planning processes, including target setting, forecasting, and performance tracking; deliver clear, concise reporting and insights to executives and senior leadership
- Build and scale automated dashboards, reporting, and analytical frameworks to improve visibility and decision-making across the organization
- Identify key drivers of performance, surface risks and opportunities, and drive accountability against business goals
- Synthesize complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives that inform strategic decisions and align cross-functional stakeholders
- Partner with senior stakeholders to drive business outcomes and inform key decisions
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's financial performance and drivers of growth
What We Are Looking For
- Proven ability to operate with ownership and influence in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- 10+ years of experience in analytical roles (e.g., strategic finance, investment banking, consulting, data science, or analytics), with demonstrated impact on business outcomes and forecasting
- Player–coach mindset with the ability to dive into complex analyses while leading and developing a team of analysts
- Strong business judgment, with the ability to connect detailed analyses to broader strategic context and executive-level decisions
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions across cross-functional teams
- Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and performance management
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively
- Ability to work in a remote environment and collaborate with teams across different locations
Nice to Have
- Experience working in the fintech industry or a related field
- Familiarity with financial planning and analysis software, such as Anaplan or Adaptive Insights
- Certification in financial planning, such as the CFP or CFA
- Experience working with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
