About the Role
The Senior Manager, Talent Management at Affirm plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's approach to talent development and management. This role is critical in creating a high-performing, inclusive organization where employees can thrive and contribute meaningfully. As a strategic talent practitioner, you will design and evolve practices, frameworks, and talent routines that create clarity around performance, growth, potential, and opportunity across the organization.The Talent Management team at Affirm is responsible for crafting and implementing talent strategies that support the company's mission and goals. This includes developing and refining performance management, talent planning, career development, and other core talent practices. The team works closely with leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure that talent decisions are aligned with the evolving needs of the business.
As a senior manager on this team, you will be expected to bring a deep understanding of talent management principles, a strategic mindset, and the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders. Your expertise will help shape the future of talent development at Affirm, ensuring that the company remains competitive in the market and continues to attract and retain top talent.
What You Will Do
- Define and evolve Affirm's career philosophy to create a clear and cohesive approach to employee growth and career opportunities.
- Architect enterprise-wide career frameworks and practices, including internal mobility, career pathing, and tools that enable transparent and consistent talent decisions.
- Establish forward-looking talent strategies that connect career growth to evolving business capabilities, workforce planning, and long-term organizational needs.
- Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to shape alignment on complex talent topics, influencing decisions through insight, strong judgment, and thoughtful recommendations.
- Develop and integrate mechanisms such as success profiles and related frameworks that clarify expectations for growth and support consistent approaches to development and talent decisions.
- Drive intentional change management strategies that help leaders and employees adopt new ways of thinking about careers, growth, and mobility at Affirm.
- Collaborate with the HR team to ensure that talent management practices are aligned with overall HR strategies and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Analyze talent metrics and benchmarks to identify areas for improvement and inform talent strategies.
- Develop and manage the talent management budget, ensuring effective use of resources.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in designing and evolving enterprise talent strategies related to careers, internal mobility, career frameworks, workforce capability planning, or organizational growth.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and build alignment with senior and executive leaders on complex, evolving talent topics.
- Strong strategic and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to bring clarity and structure to ambiguous challenges and translate ideas into scalable approaches.
- Experience leading organization-wide change efforts, including introducing thoughtful, iterative approaches that balance long-term vision with organizational readiness and adoption.
- Strong organizational judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate competing priorities and make thoughtful, balanced recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
