About the Role

The Tax Controversy and Audit Management team at DoorDash is looking for a Senior Manager to lead and manage U.S. federal, state, and international income tax audits and controversies. This role reports to the Director of Transfer Pricing and Tax Controversy and is an integral part of the broader DoorDash tax team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily global income tax audits and related controversy matters
  • Provide assistance on setting tax controversy and audit strategies
  • Support other tax planning, income tax provision, and reporting matters as needed
  • Work closely with Tax, Accounting, Finance, Legal, and other business teams to scale processes for growth

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Adjust and Excel
  • Experience in managing tax audits, appeals, and disputes with federal, state, and international tax authorities

How to Stand Out

  • Develop a strong understanding of tax controversy resolution strategies, including audits, notice responses, and penalty abatement requests.
  • Showcase your ability to work with external counsel and tax advisors to manage tax controversy matters.
  • Highlight your experience with automated solutions for tax data collection, analysis, and review.
  • Prepare to discuss your approach to researching and addressing technical tax issues, including IRS practice and procedural issues.
  • Be ready to provide examples of your leadership in gathering information for and documenting requests from tax authorities.
