About the Role

The Senior Medical Science Liaison plays a critical role in shaping the medical and scientific strategy for Scholar Rock's innovative therapies. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including research and development, commercial, and medical affairs, to ensure that the company's therapies meet the highest standards of efficacy and safety. As a key member of the medical affairs team, the Senior Medical Science Liaison will be responsible for providing scientific and medical expertise to internal stakeholders, external partners, and healthcare professionals. The Senior Medical Science Liaison will also be involved in the development of medical education initiatives, clinical trials, and research studies to support the company's pipeline of therapies. This will require a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, as well as the ability to analyze complex scientific data and communicate it effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute medical science strategies to support the launch and commercialization of Scholar Rock's therapies
  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and external partners to advance the company's medical and scientific objectives
  • Provide scientific and medical expertise to internal stakeholders, including research and development, commercial, and medical affairs teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop medical education initiatives, clinical trials, and research studies
  • Analyze and interpret complex scientific data to inform medical and scientific strategy
  • Develop and deliver scientific presentations to internal and external audiences
  • Identify and prioritize medical and scientific gaps in the market and develop strategies to address them
  • Work closely with the medical affairs team to develop and implement medical and scientific plans
  • Utilize Excel to analyze and present data to support medical and scientific initiatives

What We Are Looking For

  • MD, PharmD, or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong knowledge of neurology and/or rare diseases, with prior launch experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated strategic planning, organizational, and project management abilities
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment and partner effectively across geographic areas and cross-functional groups
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex scientific data
