About the Role
The Senior Mobile Engineer role at Tilt is a unique opportunity to drive the company's credit products forward with innovative iOS solutions. As a member of the Thrive team, you will be responsible for optimizing the application and approval funnel, experimenting with new product constructs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to build seamless credit experiences. The team is lean and high-ownership, consisting of a staff iOS engineer, an Android engineer, and you, with opportunities for growth and expansion of scope within 6-12 months.The role entails working on live products with real users, real compliance obligations, and real room to grow. You will be expected to drive the application and approval funnel, optimizing conversion rates and improving funnel performance. Your work will have a direct impact on the company's mission to create a new credit system that backs the working.
As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you will be working alongside a staff iOS engineer who will be taking on broader platform responsibilities, and you will have the opportunity to own the full iOS surface for both products within a short period.
What You Will Do
- Drive the application and approval funnel, optimizing conversion rates and improving funnel performance
- Run experiments to advance the unified product vision, testing different product constructs and UX approaches
- Operate at the outcome level, working to improve key metrics such as conversion rates
- Hold the line on precision in a regulated product, ensuring attention to detail and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Grow into full iOS ownership, taking on broader responsibilities and scope within 6-12 months
- Collaborate across the full stack, working with PMs, designers, data science, and backend engineers to build credit experiences
- Work with design and product to identify the right levers to improve key metrics
- Develop and implement new features and functionality to enhance the user experience
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the overall codebase
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience as an iOS engineer building consumer-facing mobile products
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to own technical tradeoffs and quality
- Consumer product background, with experience building products that real users interact with daily
- Product experimentation and analytics experience, with knowledge of A/B testing frameworks and analytics platforms
- Ability to work collaboratively across the full stack, with experience working with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate at the outcome level and drive key metrics
- Experience with iOS development, including Swift, Objective-C, and related technologies
- Familiarity with data-driven decision making and experimentation
Nice to Have
- Experience with machine learning-powered credit models and financial products
- Knowledge of regulations and compliance requirements in the financial industry
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and scalable architecture
- Experience with DevOps and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
