Senior Offshore Wind Technician - Vineyard Wind

About the Role

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include working with electrical and mechanical equipment, performing diagnostic analysis, and documenting all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures. You will also be required to work with GE's remote operations center when necessary and respond to their requests.

What You Will Do

• Perform maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions in wind turbines
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch and variable speed turbines
• Work with site leadership to execute contractual obligations per customer requirements
• Help in all areas of site operations as directed by the manager with minimal supervision
• Perform diagnostic electrical analysis and document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures
• Work with and respond to GE's remote operations center when necessary
• Handle repetitive weight of up to 50 lbs and climb towers up to 300 feet daily
• Meet specified manufacturer weight limits, not to exceed 300lbs including required gear
• Understand electrical schematic drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations

What We Are Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Wind Technician
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience troubleshooting inclusive of hydraulic, electrical, and experience using basic power hydraulic tools
• Basic computer skills
• Past leadership of field teams
• Ability to work in a range of environments, including industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
• Ability and willingness to work in a team environment and take initiative
• Experience using hydraulic power tools and heavy equipment required for facility maintenance

Nice to Have

• Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field
• Wind turbine experience
• Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision
• Experience with crane and rigging requirements
