About the Role
The Senior Peer Review Associate plays a vital role in managing the peer review process for assigned journals, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to research integrity standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The Senior Peer Review Associate will be responsible for managing reviewer selection, process improvements, and training new personnel.The role is part of a dynamic team that is committed to upholding the highest standards of research integrity and quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in life sciences, excellent project management skills, and experience working with journals or publishing service providers.
What You Will Do
- Lead initiatives to strengthen the reviewer selection process and improve journal health
- Manage reviewer selection for assigned journals, ensuring timely availability of qualified reviewers
- Implement quality-enhancement and integrity-driven measures throughout the reviewer selection process
- Conduct targeted reviewer searches in accordance with journal-specific workflows
- Follow up with editors, associate editors, and reviewers on pending tasks
- Maintain daily trackers for all assigned activities
- Assist editors and staff with reports or email template updates related to reviewer selection tasks
- Manage submission volumes aligned with the yearly WAP after successful completion of phased training
- Update monthly MIS reports and ensure all KPIs are consistently met
- Respond to emails from editors, associate editors, reviewers, and internal teams within 48 hours
- Serve as the point of contact for at least one team member annually and meet all documented expectations
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences
- 2-4 years of experience working with a journal, publisher, or publishing service provider
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
- Strong understanding of research integrity and quality standards

- Experience with peer review management software
- Knowledge of publishing industry trends and developments
- Certification in project management or a related field
