Job Description

## About the Role The Senior People Business Partner is a vital role at Wikimedia, responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and support to the organization's global teams. This position requires a skilled people advisor who can integrate best practices for organizational development and change management into existing cultures and values systems. As a key member of the People department, the Senior People Business Partner will work closely with managers, leaders, and staff to drive results and improve the status quo.

The ideal candidate will be someone who loves to collaborate with others to solve problems, both large and small, and has an intrinsic drive for results and improving processes. The ability to celebrate wins while learning from mistakes is essential, as well as a comfort level with sharing knowledge and experience with a strong and close-knit team.

The Senior People Business Partner will report to the Senior Manager, People Experience, and will work in partnership with staff from the People department to ensure support, alignment, and connection to the Wikimedia Foundation's People Experience services and programs.

## What You Will Do - Provide ongoing guidance, coaching, employee relations, and overall HR support for respective client groups - Develop and implement specialized programs based on the current and future needs of the client group and the Foundation - Offer targeted support for various employee relations concerns and issues, maintaining confidentiality and discretion - Operate as a thought partner to managers and leaders, influencing decision-making through clear and confident communication - Facilitate and counsel leadership, managers, and employees on performance-related issues, providing guidance on corrective action - Conduct talent reviews to recommend staffing levels and skills for the department to achieve its goals - Collaborate with other HRBPs and People Centers of Excellence to implement solutions that meet changing business and talent needs - Support managers and staff with changes arising from recommendations, providing day-to-day guidance on coaching, career development, and disciplinary actions - Work closely with leadership and staff as part of employee relations work to improve relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention

## What We Are Looking For - 5+ years of experience in a similar HR or people advisory role, with a proven track record of success - Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and laws, including experience with talent management, organizational development, and change management - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with teams and leaders - Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and reporting - Proficiency in tools such as Adjust and Excel, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies - Commitment to Wikimedia's values and mission, with a passion for learning and growth

## Nice to Have - Experience working in a global, remote environment, with a strong understanding of cultural differences and nuances - Knowledge of Wikimedia's specific programs and services, with a desire to learn and grow with the organization - Certification in HR or a related field, such as SHRM or HRCI - Experience with talent management software and systems, such as Workday or BambooHR
