About the Role

Kaufland e-commerce operates international online marketplaces with thousands of sellers and millions of products. The Tech & Product Team is responsible for creating the best possible customer shopping experience.

Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate and design data stores and messaging systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, and Redis
  • Optimize systems for scalable, highly available, maintainable, cross-region solutions
  • Partner with engineering teams to identify and optimize slow queries
  • Consult on choosing and implementing suitable database solutions
  • Manage database fleet lifecycle, streamlining maintenance and security

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of MySQL and MongoDB, with experience in PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, and Redis
  • Proven track record of optimizing databases at scale
  • Experience in managing infrastructure as code, specifically using Terraform and preferably Ansible
