About the Role
The Senior Presales Engineer role at Twilio is a critical part of the sales team, focused on enabling customers to build the future of communications. As a key member of the Digital Sales segment, you will be responsible for delivering technical wins and driving customer success through your expertise in presales engineering. You will work closely with account executives to execute pre-sales activities, including opportunity qualification, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept projects.The role involves leading technical discovery sessions, proposing technical architectures, and demonstrating Twilio's products to customers. You will also build customer trust in Twilio's solutions and establish yourself as a trusted advisor to our customers. With a strong focus on remote-first work, you will be part of a vibrant team with diverse experiences making a global impact each day.
What You Will Do
- Partner with Account Executives to execute pre-sales activities, including opportunity qualification, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept projects
- Help customers achieve success by leading the technical and product sale, recommending best-practice solutions, and guiding them on how to use Twilio's APIs
- Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to our customers, by taking the lead on understanding customer technical pains through discovery
- Build and present highly interactive, complex, and engaging customer product demonstrations to showcase the capabilities of Twilio's Communications Products
- Be hands-on, high-energy, passionate, and a creative problem solver, equipped with the knowledge of how to get things done and ability to lead others to success
- Take the initiative to identify and solve problems - both for the customer and within the organization as we grow
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive customer success and revenue growth
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Twilio's products and services, as well as industry trends and emerging technologies
- Provide feedback and insights to internal stakeholders to improve product development and sales strategies
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in presales engineering, technical sales, or a related field
- Strong technical skills, with expertise in Excel and experience with APIs and software development
- Proven track record of driving customer success and revenue growth through technical sales and presales engineering
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust with customers and internal stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
- Strong understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies, with a passion for innovation and customer success
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Nice to Have
- Experience working with cloud-based communications platforms and APIs
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and experience working in a DevOps environment
- Certification in a related field, such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Experience working with data analytics and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Strong understanding of security and compliance principles, with experience working in a secure development environment
