About the Role
The Senior Product Architect (Platform Foundations) plays a crucial role in shaping the vision, strategy, and execution of Equinix's platform capabilities. This leader will own the product portfolio and long-term roadmap for foundational platform capabilities, enabling secure, portable, scalable, and AI-native workload delivery across hybrid infrastructure environments.As a key member of the Equinix Engineering Excellence (E3) team, the Senior Product Architect will work cross-functionally with engineering, architecture, infrastructure, security, SRE, AI platform teams, and business stakeholders to deliver measurable improvements in developer productivity, operational resilience, portability, governance, and infrastructure efficiency.
The role requires balancing long-term platform architecture with practical adoption strategies, ensuring that foundational capabilities are discoverable, consumable, and integrated into developer workflows rather than operating as standalone infrastructure programs.
What You Will Do
- Define and evolve the long-term vision, operating model, and roadmap for the Platform Foundations capability domain
- Own a portfolio of foundational platform products and capabilities, including roadmap prioritization, sequencing, dependency management, and adoption strategy
- Establish strategic direction aligned to Equinix engineering productivity, reliability, cost efficiency, and AI transformation goals
- Partner with engineering leaders to shape and govern the executive inspection process for the Platform Foundations domain
- Represent the needs of developers, infrastructure engineers, SREs, security teams, and platform consumers
- Work across E3, Infrastructure, Security, SRE, Architecture, and Delivery organizations to align platform strategy and execution
- Develop business cases and investment strategies for foundational platform capabilities
- Drive alignment between engineering execution and executive-level business outcomes
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in software development, platform architecture, or a related field
- Strong technical expertise in infrastructure, cloud computing, and AI-native platforms
- Experience with unified environment abstraction layers, infrastructure control plane capabilities, and workload portability frameworks
- Strong understanding of declarative infrastructure and workload intent models, foundational APIs, and platform contracts
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, architecture, infrastructure, security, and business stakeholders
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to represent the needs of developers and platform consumers
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance long-term vision with practical adoption strategies

- Experience with Excel, particularly in data analysis and visualization
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
