About the Role

The Senior Product Counsel role at ClickHouse is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing company and make a significant impact on the development of its products. As a trusted legal partner to the product and engineering teams, you will provide counsel on a wide range of issues, from AI and data privacy to intellectual property and open-source software. You will be part of a dynamic team that is shaping the future of real-time analytics and AI workloads.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tech law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. You will report to the Deputy General Counsel, Product and IP, and will have the opportunity to build and shape the product legal function as the company continues to grow.

What You Will Do

  • Become a founding member of the product legal team and serve as a legal partner to the product, engineering, and design organizations
  • Cultivate strong relationships with product and engineering leadership and act as a pragmatic, solutions-oriented legal advisor
  • Advise on legal issues arising from new and evolving product features, with a particular focus on AI/ML, data privacy, intellectual property, and open-source software
  • Advise on, draft, and review technology licensing and integration partnership agreements with strategic product and ecosystem partners
  • Advise on open-source licensing strategy and compliance
  • Draft, review, and maintain product-specific legal terms, policies, and documentation
  • Support legal integration work arising from acquisitions, including diligence of acquired product IP, policy alignment, and creation of new or modified legal terms for acquired company customers
  • Advise on trademark and brand protection matters, including monitoring for potential infringement, responding to third-party claims, and counseling on product naming and go-to-market materials
  • Partner with the Governance, Risk, and Compliance team to build privacy-by-design practices into product development and ensure compliance with global data protection regulations
  • Partner with the Security and Privacy teams on incident response, advising on notification obligations, regulatory reporting requirements, and customer communications

What We Are Looking For

  • Law degree and member in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar
  • Exceptional academic performance and training, including law degree from a highly ranked law school
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the tech industry
  • Strong knowledge of tech law, including AI, data privacy, intellectual property, and open-source software
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with product development and launch
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Adjust and Excel
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and real-time analytics
  • Familiarity with global data protection regulations
  • Experience with open-source software and licensing
  • Certification in data privacy or intellectual property law
