About the Role

The Senior Product Designer position at Cohere is a unique opportunity to join a team of innovators who are shaping the future of enterprise AI. As a key member of the North team, you will be responsible for designing intuitive experiences for complex AI-driven workflows, working closely with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality experiences. The role entails a deep understanding of AI concepts and agentic systems, including how models reason, use tools, and orchestrate multi-step workflows. As part of the North product team, you will own the end-to-end design process and be a key stakeholder in prioritization and strategy decisions.

What You Will Do

  • Own the design process end-to-end for your product area, identifying opportunities to improve user experience and drive product impact
  • Design intuitive, user-friendly experiences that balance technical complexity with accessibility and ease of use
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Conduct user research to understand needs, validate design decisions, and translate insights into actionable design improvements
  • Maintain a high craft and quality bar, ensuring every detail contributes to a cohesive and polished experience
  • Contribute to design systems and patterns that scale across the North platform
  • Partner with engineering to ensure designs are implemented with fidelity and make pragmatic tradeoffs when needed
  • Work on experiences that are defining how enterprises leverage AI
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in AI and design
  • Participate in design critiques and provide constructive feedback to colleagues

What We Are Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience designing digital products with a strong portfolio that demonstrates your process, systems thinking, and measurable impact on user outcomes
  • Strong understanding of AI concepts and agentic systems, including how models reason, use tools, and orchestrate multi-step workflows
  • Collaborative approach to product development, with experience working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders
  • Deep commitment to understanding user needs through research, data, and direct engagement
  • Proficiency in Figma and other design tools
  • Experience building scalable patterns and systems
  • Strong visual design skills in typography, layout, color, and composition
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions and tradeoffs
