About the Role

As a Senior Product Designer at Weedmaps, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the user experience for our mobile-first, data-driven company. Your day-to-day will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product, Data, Research, and Engineering, to identify needs, define requirements, and design solutions that meet business goals. You'll work on industry-shaping products, both web and mobile apps, and have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's mission to foster business solutions, social reform, and equal access to cannabis.

Our design team is passionate about creating experiences people love, and we're looking for a talented Senior Product Designer to join our ranks. You'll be responsible for communicating design decisions, both verbally and in writing, and creating design artifacts such as user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes.

What You Will Do

  • Identify, evaluate, and improve critical user journeys, making quantitative and qualitative-informed design decisions
  • Collaborate with Product, Data, Research, Engineering, and other teams to identify needs, define requirements, discover solutions, execute, and ship
  • Distill complex problems into discrete components with actionable solutions
  • Maintain, guide, and push the boundaries of our design system
  • Prototype and test interactions and user experiences objectively and without bias
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data and analytics to make informed decisions
  • Actively participate in group critiques, providing and receiving thoughtful, constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with research partners and product managers to participate in discovery and usability studies
  • Create design artifacts, including information architecture diagrams, user flows, user stories, use cases, research plans, wireframes, high-fidelity mock-ups, and interactive prototypes

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional experience with end-to-end product design
  • A strong portfolio showcasing examples of human-centered designs, with clear indication of your specific contributions
  • Ability to lead or work independently on medium-to-large sized projects
  • Experience designing and conducting usability tests
  • Experience using analytics to make informed, data-driven decisions
  • Experience working with design systems
  • Meaningful experience in B2C eCommerce and/or B2B SaaS
  • Strong work ethic, sense of accountability, self-management, and collaboration
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of front-end coding concepts, such as HTML5/CSS/JavaScript

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Design Thinking and Design Sprints
  • Knowledge of and passion for the cannabis industry
  • Strong understanding of mobile-first design principles
  • Experience working with remote teams
