As the Senior Product Manager for Ledger, you will be responsible for driving the strategy and execution of this critical platform, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and adoption across the organization. The Ledger team sits at the intersection of financial infrastructure, regulatory accountability, and org-wide platform adoption, making this a high-impact role that requires strong technical and financial expertise.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of double-entry accounting, event-sourced architectures, and financial data pipelines, as well as experience building and scaling internal platform products. You will be expected to own the Ledger roadmap, drive org-wide adoption, and partner with Finance and Accounting to translate accounting requirements into product architecture.

  • Partner with Finance and Accounting: Translate accounting requirements into product architecture and translate product decisions back to stakeholders
  • Set the financial data standard: Define what clean, reconcilable financial data looks like at Mercury
  • Navigate a complex stakeholder environment: Coordinate across banking platform teams, payment rails teams, Finance, Compliance, and Risk
  • Develop and maintain technical fluency: Engage credibly with engineers on event-sourced architectures, database consistency models, and financial data pipelines
  • Drive alignment on GL mappings, posting accuracy, and financial reporting pipelines
  • Work with the Reconciliation team to ensure every ledger entry is accurate, traceable, and exception-free

What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years of product management experience in fintech, financial services, or platform/infrastructure product roles

  • Experience building and scaling internal platform products with broad adoption requirements
  • Highly structured, data-driven approach to product decisions: Ability to think in systems, model second and third-order effects, and communicate tradeoffs effectively
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance in the financial services sector
  • Excellent communication and project management skills

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of machine learning and data analytics in financial services
