About the Role

The Senior Product Manager, ML Signals, plays a critical role in defining and executing the team's roadmap, partnering closely with machine learning engineers, data scientists, and policy experts. This position is part of Reddit's effort to enhance its content understanding capabilities, utilizing the latest advancements in machine learning and artificial intelligence. The role involves leading the expansion of content understanding signals across all modalities, including text, image, and video, to support a unified multimodal representation of Reddit content.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving the integration of ML signals to improve personalization and brand safety across the platform. This involves working closely with various teams, including the Feed, Ads, Search, and Safety teams, to ensure seamless adoption of these signals. Your expertise in signal strategy and vision will be crucial in establishing standardized definitions and success metrics for content quality and utility.

What You Will Do

  • Define the long-term roadmap for foundational content understanding signals, including topicality, content maturity, and quality scores.
  • Act as the primary bridge between the ML Engineering team and downstream consumers, driving the integration of ML signals.
  • Establish standardized definitions and success metrics for content quality and utility.
  • Lead the strategy for high-quality training data, including the use of Human-in-the-Loop workflows and modern automated evaluation techniques.
  • Partner with Data Science and ML Engineers to monitor signal health, coverage, and accuracy, translating technical performance into business impact.
  • Navigate complex tradeoffs between Policy, Engineering, and Product teams to ensure signals meet both user safety requirements and product growth goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver initiatives that achieve defined goals and success metrics.
  • Prioritize projects based on downstream impact and drive adoption of ML signals across the organization.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong background in the latest ML/AI research and its applications in product development.
  • Experience in defining and executing product roadmaps, particularly in relation to machine learning and content understanding.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with engineering, data science, and policy teams.
  • Understanding of signal strategy and vision, with the ability to establish standardized definitions and success metrics.
  • Experience with data strategy and labeling, including Human-in-the-Loop workflows and automated evaluation techniques.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex tradeoffs and collaborate with various stakeholders.
