As the Senior Product Manager for NerdWallet’s Small and Medium Business vertical, you will define and execute product strategy, building products that help business owners achieve their goals. This role connects customer insights, data, and business strategy to deliver scalable solutions that drive meaningful impact for SMBs across lending, banking, and financial management. You will collaborate closely with engineering, design, data, analytics, and go-to-market partners to bring innovative solutions to market, balancing long-term vision with thoughtful execution and measurable business outcomes. You will lead end-to-end product initiatives across the SMB portfolio, from discovery through launch and ongoing optimization. This includes defining customer needs, business objectives, and success metrics, and translating them into clear roadmaps, detailed requirements, and actionable plans. In partnership with engineering, design, analytics, data, and marketing teams, you will build, test, and deliver features that enhance customer experience and business performance, while developing scalable systems that support personalized acquisition, retention, and cross-sell strategies. Grounded in data and customer feedback, you will continuously evaluate performance, refine priorities, and communicate product vision, strategy, and results to stakeholders and executive leadership. This role reports to the Sr. Director & Head of SMB Product, Engineering and Design. WHERE YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT: - Define Product Strategy: Own the roadmap and vision for your product area, aligning customer needs, data insights, and company goals.
- Drive Innovation: Identify and validate new opportunities using competitive analysis, customer research, and rapid experimentation.
- Make Data-Driven Decisions: Partner with analytics and data engineering to test, learn, and iterate using measurable outcomes.
- Lead Cross-Functional Execution: Partner with engineering, marketing, and design to ensure on-time delivery of impactful features.
- Ensure Transparency: Share progress, learnings, and roadmaps across teams, building organizational clarity and trust.
- Foster Excellence: Create playbooks, define best practices, and contribute to a culture of executional excellence across SMB. YOUR EXPERIENCE: - 5+ years of experience as a product manager - Strategic thinking and roadmap development: Proven ability to develop and drive product strategies and roadmaps that align with business objectives - Customer-centric approach: Expertise in gathering and analyzing customer feedback, understanding user needs, and translating these into actionable product features - Cross-functional collaboration: Experience working closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to drive product development and go-to-market strategies - Data-driven decision making: Proficiency in using data to inform product decisions, set KPIs and measure success - Agile methodology experience: Familiarity with agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and rapid testing - Excellent communication skills: Ability to articulate product vision and influence stakeholders at all levels - Strong design sense or UX experience: Ability to collaborate closely with designers and prioritize user experience for SMB users - Familiarity with the SMB market: Knowledge of the challenges and needs of small to medium-sized businesses WHERE: - This role will be remote (based in the U.S.).

How to Stand Out
- Develop a sample product roadmap for NerdWallet's Small Business Team, showcasing your understanding of the market and ability to drive business growth, and be prepared to present it during the interview process.
- Highlight your proficiency in Excel by creating a sample financial model or analysis related to small business lending or banking, demonstrating your ability to work with data and drive insights.

- Be prepared to negotiate salary by researching the market rate for Senior Product Managers in the US, and highlighting your unique skills and experience, such as expertise in financial management or small business lending, to make a strong case for your desired compensation.
