About the Role
The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a Senior Program Officer to develop and implement content enablement strategies, focusing on structured volunteering programs and partnerships.Responsibilities
- Secure new partnerships with organizations that facilitate structured volunteering programs.
- Support Wikimedia communities and volunteers in offering training and content challenges.
- Develop a deep understanding of Wikipedia editing practices and policies to effectively communicate with partners.
- Use data and community insights to identify knowledge gaps and match them with volunteering organizations' capacities and interests.
Requirements
- Professional experience in education, youth, and/or volunteer management programs.
- Strong facilitation skills and ability to build community trust and alignment.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Ability to work across departments in a distributed and cross-cultural environment.
