About the Role

The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a Senior Program Officer to lead Content Enablement efforts, focusing on developing partnerships with organizations that facilitate structured volunteering programs.

Responsibilities

  • Secure new partnerships with organizations that offer structured volunteering programs.
  • Support Wikimedia communities and volunteers to provide training and content challenges through these programs.
  • Develop an understanding of Wikipedia editing practices and policies to effectively communicate with partners.
  • Identify knowledge gaps that match volunteering organizations' capacities and interests using readership data and community insights.

Requirements

  • Professional experience in education, youth, and/or volunteer management programs.
  • Strong facilitation skills and the ability to build community trust and alignment.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work across departments in a distributed and cross-cultural environment.
