Job Description

## About the Role The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a Senior Program Officer, Content Enablement, to develop and maintain partnerships that facilitate structured volunteering programs, aimed at attracting new contributors through the education sector and corporate and youth volunteering programs.

## Responsibilities - Secure new partnerships with organizations that offer structured volunteering programs.

  • Support Wikimedia communities and volunteers in providing training and content challenges through these programs.
  • Develop an understanding of Wikipedia editing practices, policies, and guidelines to effectively communicate with partners.
  • Utilize readership data and community insights to identify knowledge gaps that match volunteering organizations’ capacities and interests.
  • Communicate the needs of volunteering programs to Product Managers responsible for delivering the Contributor Experience strategy.
## Requirements - Professional experience in education, youth, and/or volunteer management programs.
  • Strong facilitation skills and the ability to build community trust and alignment.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with a proven ability to communicate ideas.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to working in a distributed, cross-cultural environment.
  • Ability to connect with partners across UTC+2 to UTC-5 timezones, with 3 international trips per year.
  • Typically requires 5+ years of professional experience, in addition to a Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years experience with a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience.
