About the Role
The Senior Protocol Engineer role at XION is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing tech scale-up revolutionizing the modern internet. As a senior protocol engineer, you will be responsible for the optimization and functional expansion of high-use modules, custom cross-chain integrations, and the integration of protocol-level ZK proving systems. You will work closely with the best teams in the web2 and web3 space, conducting research and evaluation of cutting-edge protocol concepts to maintain the forward-facing technological sustainability of the platform.The XION team is consumer-minded, building for massive audiences and user-bases, and as a senior protocol engineer, you will have direct product ownership and impact. What You Will Do
- Optimize and functionally expand high-use modules such as x/auth, x/authz, and x/feegrant
- Develop custom cross-chain integrations with IBC or non-IBC blockchains
- Integrate protocol-level ZK proving systems for consumer dapp integration
- Expand testing automation and internal development tooling
- Coordinate and collaborate with the best teams in the web2 and web3 space
- Conduct research and evaluation of cutting-edge protocol concepts
- Design and implement IBC protocol and app-level solutions
- Work on Hyperlane warp routes and Rust development
- Collaborate with the team to maintain the forward-facing technological sustainability of the platform
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in software development
- 5+ years of experience in blockchain or similar distributed systems design and development
- 3+ years of experience in Cosmos SDK development
- 3+ years of experience in Golang development
- Experience with IBC protocol and app-level design
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and blockchain technology
- Experience with Rust and Typescript is a plus
Nice to Have
- Experience with Hyperlane warp routes
- Experience with ZK proving systems
- Familiarity with web2 and web3 technologies
