About the Role
The Senior Public Sector Solutions Architect role at Gitlab is a critical position that requires a deep understanding of the public sector's unique challenges and the ability to guide customers through the adoption of Gitlab's DevSecOps platform. As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with public sector customers to understand their business and mission outcomes and provide technical expertise to address these needs. As a Senior Public Sector Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for driving the adoption of Gitlab's platform within government environments, working closely with sales and cross-functional teams to shape and execute account strategies.
What You Will Do
- Engage with public sector customers to provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the pre-sales process
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute account strategies that drive Gitlab adoption
- Own the technical evaluation process, including proof of concept and proof of value design and delivery
- Lead the creation of Customer Success Plans that capture technical success criteria and handoff details
- Build and deepen relationships with technical and business stakeholders to become advocates for Gitlab
- Serve as the customer advocate internally, channeling feedback and insights to Product, Sales, Marketing, and other teams
- Maintain and expand your expertise in Gitlab and related technologies, including modern software development, operations, and cloud practices
- Run Value Stream Assessments to identify opportunities for customers to improve their software delivery with Gitlab
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in a solutions architecture or similar role, preferably in the public sector
- Deep understanding of DevSecOps and cloud practices
- Experience with Gitlab or similar platforms
- Strong technical skills, including software development and operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Experience working with government agencies or public sector organizations
- Strong understanding of the public sector's unique challenges and regulations
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI and machine learning technologies
- Knowledge of cloud security and compliance frameworks
- Certification in DevSecOps or related fields
