About the Role
The Senior Recruiter - Compliance role at Mercury is a critical position that requires a high degree of expertise in full-cycle recruiting, particularly for compliance, risk, and audit professionals. As a key member of the recruiting team, you will partner closely with leadership and executives across Mercury's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) teams to identify, attract, and retain top talent. Your deep understanding of the fintech industry, combined with your recruitment expertise, will enable you to develop and execute strategic recruiting plans that meet the company's growing needs.Mercury is revolutionizing finance for startups by building a complete, user-friendly banking stack, and the GRC teams play a vital role in ensuring the company's operations are compliant with regulatory requirements. As a senior recruiter, you will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of Mercury's values, brand, products, and business model, as well as the company's talent needs and market trends.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, a creative problem solver, and a collaborative team player who is passionate about building diverse, inclusive, and high-performing teams. You will have the opportunity to work closely with hiring managers and interviewers to design interview panels, proactively network within the industry, source strong candidates, and close candidates by positioning Mercury as an innovative fintech leader in the Risk and Compliance space.
What You Will Do
- Develop a deep understanding of Mercury's values, brand, products, and business model
- Work closely with hiring managers and interviewers to design interview panels and proactively network within the industry
- Source strong candidates who meet the needs of the business and close candidates by positioning Mercury as an innovative fintech leader
- Shape what success looks like on the recruiting team and hold a high culture and hiring bar to ensure the company attracts and retains best-in-class Risk and Compliance talent
- Position yourself as a true strategic partner to the GRC teams by keeping abreast of fintech and banking industry trends and talent market
- Build a deep understanding of the U.S. banking and financial regulatory environment
- Identify and engage top talent through both passive and active channels and deliver an exceptional candidate experience
- Be a strong advocate for building inclusive, diverse teams across all levels and Risk and Compliance skill sets
- Guide hiring teams towards unbiased hiring decisions
- Have the opportunity to lead recruiting efforts as Mercury expands its business and products
- Work with data to interpret the story it tells into actionable insights, business recommendations, performance improvements, and recruiting process enhancements
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with 7+ years of experience overall in a talent, people, or HR-equivalent function
- Deep experience recruiting for niche business roles across mid-level ICs to senior-level leadership, ideally for Risk, Compliance, Audit, or Legal teams
- Experience influencing and partnering with senior-level and Executive-level stakeholders and hiring managers
- Strong sourcing and networking skills, with the ability to engage the appropriate talent proactively for longer-term hiring needs
- Enjoy building diverse, inclusive, and high-performing teams and leading with deep empathy, kindness, and care for the work
- Ability to work with data and interpret the story it tells into actionable insights
- Experience with creative problem-solving and working within difficult constraints
- Ability to effectively prioritize work against business demands and optimize workflow through automation and improvement
Nice to Have
- Experience working in the fintech or banking industry
- Knowledge of U.S. banking and financial regulatory environment
- Experience with recruiting tools and systems, such as ATS and CRM
- Certification in recruitment or a related field
