About the Role

The Senior Research Technologist role at Zillow is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of technical capabilities and research thinking. As part of the Product Acceleration Research team, you will be responsible for developing and scaling the infrastructure that enables product teams, designers, and researchers to test AI-powered experiences with real users before they reach production. This role is crucial in driving the development of AI-powered experiences across Zillow's products, and you will have the chance to collaborate with various teams, including Product, Engineering, Design, and Research.

The Senior Research Technologist will own the infrastructure that enables product teams to test emerging AI-powered experiences with real users before launch. This involves building, improving, and scaling the testing infrastructure, as well as defining clear standards for pre-production testing and evidence-based decision-making. You will also partner with various teams to translate testing needs into practical systems and workflows, bringing a technical perspective to research conversations and advocating for strong learning practices in cross-functional decision-making.

The Product Acceleration Research team is focused on accelerating the speed of product development, and the Senior Research Technologist will play a key role in achieving this goal. By developing and scaling the testing infrastructure, you will enable product teams to test and refine their AI-powered experiences more efficiently, ultimately driving the development of more effective and user-friendly products.

What You Will Do

Develop and scale the infrastructure for testing AI-powered experiences with real users before launch
Define clear standards for pre-production testing and evidence-based decision-making
Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and Research teams to translate testing needs into practical systems and workflows
Bring a technical perspective to research conversations and advocate for strong learning practices in cross-functional decision-making
Build, improve, and scale the testing infrastructure to support the development of AI-powered experiences
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine AI-powered experiences
Develop and maintain documentation of testing infrastructure and processes
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in AI and product development
Participate in research and development initiatives to drive innovation and growth
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize testing needs

What We Are Looking For

Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel and experience with AI-powered systems
Experience in research and development, with a focus on AI and product development
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions
Experience with testing infrastructure and evidence-based decision-making
