About the Role
The Senior Retirement Plan Document Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of plan documents and amendments for clients. This involves collaborating with internal teams, legal counsel, and clients to finalize document language and coordinating the distribution of annual notices. As a key member of the team, the specialist will also provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.The role entails a deep understanding of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical and service-oriented mindset, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and internal teams.

What You Will Do
- Draft Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution plan documents, restatements, and amendments from basic to complex plan designs
- Prepare and maintain plan documents for new retirement plans, conversions, and restatements from basic to complex plan designs
- Coordinate with legal counsel and clients to finalize document language
- Lead and prepare the process of annual notices distribution
- Create processes for legislative and recurring large-scale plan document projects
- Ensure all plan documents meet IRS, ERISA, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with internal teams on plan design, amendments, and necessary participant communications
- Collaborate with internal teams on EPCRS correction processes
- Prepare and conduct plan-year-end non-discrimination testing (ADP, ACP, Top-heavy, 410(b), 415, 414(s), etc.)
- Prepare IRS Filings (5500, 5558, 5330, etc.)
- Work with vendors/recordkeepers to maintain the plan design integrity and day-to-day service issues
- Maintain client and due diligence files
- Review and update procedures
- Stay current on industry updates, legislative changes, and internal initiatives
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five (5) or more years of related work experience
- Experience with small to large size clients
- Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions
- Strong understanding of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations
- Document software experience
- Positive attitude and a service-oriented mindset
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Strong sense of business ethics and integrity
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word)
Nice to Have
- Law School degree
- Professional designation issued by ASPPA, NIPA, etc. or progress toward designation
- Experience with complex plan designs and restatements
- Knowledge of industry updates, legislative changes, and internal initiatives
