About the Role
The Senior Revenue Accountant role at Cohere is a critical position that requires a deep understanding of revenue accounting principles and practices. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate recognition and reporting of revenue, as well as providing guidance and support to cross-functional teams. What You Will Do
- Perform detailed contract review and analysis for non-standard arrangements to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606
- Lead and execute all revenue- and commission-related month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all revenue, commission, and related accounts
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors on all revenue-related matters
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives to streamline and automate revenue accounting processes within the ERP system
- Collaborate with Finance, Order Operations, and Product teams to set up end-to-end order-to-cash testing for new products and features
- Lead ad hoc reporting and project engagements
- Develop and maintain documentation of revenue accounting processes and procedures
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years focused on revenue accounting
- Deep working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606
- Proficiency with a major ERP system (e.g., NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience with NetSuite ARM is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supporting audit processes and working with external auditors
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems
- Knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts
- Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
- Certification in revenue accounting or a related field
