About the Role

The Senior Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support throughout the sales cycle, ensuring that Fivetran's solutions are properly positioned and demonstrated to meet the customer's needs. This will involve developing and delivering technical presentations, running proof-of-value processes, and working closely with the sales team to ensure a cohesive and effective sales strategy.

What You Will Do

  • Work with enterprise customers to understand their business requirements, use cases, and data replication needs
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations to enterprise audiences, showcasing Fivetran's data replication solutions and capabilities
  • Ensure the technical win by running a tight proof-of-value process, working closely with the sales team to develop and execute a winning sales strategy
  • Collaborate with Fivetran's Product, Post-Sale Services, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of solutions to enterprise customer needs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key enterprise customers and partners, providing ongoing support and guidance to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the data replication and cloud infrastructure space, applying this knowledge to improve sales strategies and customer solutions
  • Provide input and feedback to the product and engineering teams on customer requirements and market trends, helping to inform product development and roadmap decisions
  • Participate in sales forecasting and pipeline management, providing accurate and timely updates to the sales team and management
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Fivetran's competitors and the competitive landscape, using this knowledge to develop effective sales strategies and counter competitive threats

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong technical background covering database replication, cloud infrastructure, and data replication technologies
  • Experience with modern data analytics technologies, including cloud data warehouses, transformation tooling, data catalogs, and BI tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex customer problems
  • 5+ years of experience in selling IT services or products within an enterprise or similarly complex environment
  • Strong understanding of enterprise customer needs and the ability to develop tailored solutions that meet these requirements
  • Experience working with Excel and other data analysis tools, with the ability to apply this knowledge to develop and deliver data-driven sales strategies
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve sales and customer satisfaction goals

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with Fivetran's data replication solutions, or similar technologies
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and data analytics technologies, including AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, and Databricks
  • Familiarity with data pipelines and data integration technologies, including Kafka, Grafana, and API
  • Strong understanding of enterprise sales processes and methodologies, with the ability to apply this knowledge to develop and execute effective sales strategies
