The Senior Sales Engineer role at Fivetran is a critical position that demands a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen. As a key member of the Enterprise sales team, you will be responsible for understanding the complex business needs of Fivetran's enterprise customers and showcasing how the company's data replication solutions can help them achieve their desired business outcomes. This involves providing technical expertise, identifying functional and technical requirements, and supporting a regimented proof-of-value process throughout the sales cycle. Your work will have a direct impact on Fivetran's mission to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity.Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies, and as a Senior Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in this endeavor. Your expertise will help drive business growth by ensuring that Fivetran's solutions meet the evolving needs of its enterprise customers. You will work closely with the sales team to develop and deliver functional and technical presentations to enterprise audiences, ensuring that the technical win is secured through a tight proof-of-value process.
What You Will Do
- Work with Enterprise customers to understand their business requirements, use cases, and data replication requirements
- Develop and deliver functional and technical presentations to Enterprise audiences
- Ensure the technical win by running a tight proof-of-value process
- Work closely with Fivetran’s Product, Post Sale Services, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of our solutions to Enterprise customer needs
- Develop and maintain relationships with key Enterprise customers and partners
- Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in our industry
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify new sales opportunities and expand existing relationships
- Provide feedback to the product development team based on customer interactions and market insights
- Conduct demos and trials to showcase Fivetran's capabilities and value proposition
- Negotiate and close deals, ensuring that customer needs are met and Fivetran's goals are achieved
What We Are Looking For
- Strong technical background covering database replication, cloud infrastructure, and data replication technologies
- Experience with modern data analytics technologies, including cloud data warehouses, transformation tooling, data catalogs, and BI tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a keen ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- 5+ years in selling IT services or products within an enterprise or similarly complex environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Understanding of data integration and data governance principles
- Experience with tools like AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Kafka, and Grafana

- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or R
