About the Role

The Senior Sales Engineer position at Fivetran is a critical role that involves working closely with the sales team to understand the complex business needs of enterprise customers and showcasing how Fivetran's data replication solutions can help them achieve their desired business outcomes. This role is pivotal in driving business growth by providing technical expertise and supporting a regimented proof-of-value process throughout the sales cycle. As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will be the technical liaison between Fivetran's sales team and its enterprise customers, ensuring that the technical win is achieved by running a tight proof-of-value process.

The day-to-day responsibilities will involve working cross-functionally with internal counterparts, including sales, professional services, and marketing teams, to build and maintain a holistic account ownership plan. You will also be responsible for developing and delivering technical presentations to enterprise audiences, ensuring that the technical aspects of Fivetran's solutions are clearly communicated and aligned with the customers' needs.

What You Will Do

  • Work with Enterprise customers to understand their business, use cases, and data replication requirements, providing tailored solutions to meet their needs.
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations to Enterprise audiences, ensuring a deep understanding of Fivetran's data replication solutions.
  • Ensure the technical win by running a tight proof-of-value process, working closely with the sales team and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and product, to align on customer needs and solution offerings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key Enterprise customers and partners, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the data replication and cloud infrastructure space, applying this knowledge to improve sales strategies and customer solutions.
  • Work closely with Fivetran's Product and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of solutions with Enterprise customer needs, providing feedback and insights to inform product development.
  • Participate in the development of sales strategies and plans, leveraging technical expertise to drive sales growth and customer acquisition.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging existing relationships and networks to expand Fivetran's customer base.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in data replication, sales engineering, or a related technical field, with a proven track record of success in driving sales growth and customer acquisition.
  • Strong technical background covering database replication, cloud infrastructure, and data replication technologies, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with modern data analytics technologies, including cloud data warehouses, transformation tooling, data catalogs, and BI tools, with the ability to apply this knowledge to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop and deliver compelling technical presentations to Enterprise audiences.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally to support large enterprise customers, with experience in building and maintaining holistic account ownership plans.
  • Strong understanding of the sales process, with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities, and drive sales growth through technical expertise and strategy.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with technologies such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Kafka, and Grafana, with the ability to apply this knowledge to drive sales and customer engagement.
