About the Role

The Senior Sales Engineer position at Fivetran is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of the company's data replication solutions and how they can be applied to meet the complex needs of enterprise clients. As a key member of the sales team, the successful candidate will work closely with account executives, professional services, and other stakeholders to identify and pursue new business opportunities. With a strong technical background and excellent communication skills, the senior sales engineer will be responsible for delivering technical presentations, running proof-of-value processes, and ensuring the technical win for Fivetran's solutions.

The role is part of Fivetran's Enterprise, Strategic Existing Business sales team, which is focused on building long-term relationships with key clients and driving revenue growth through upselling and cross-selling. The team is highly collaborative, and the senior sales engineer will be expected to work closely with internal counterparts to build and maintain a holistic account ownership plan.

What You Will Do

  • Work with enterprise clients to understand their business needs and identify opportunities for Fivetran's data replication solutions
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations to enterprise audiences, showcasing the value and capabilities of Fivetran's technology
  • Run proof-of-value processes to ensure the technical win for Fivetran's solutions
  • Work cross-functionally with internal counterparts to build and maintain a holistic account ownership plan
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key enterprise clients and partners
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the data analytics industry
  • Collaborate with Fivetran's Product and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of the company's solutions with enterprise client needs
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, working closely with account executives and other stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Fivetran's competitors and their offerings

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in data replication, sales engineering, or a related technical field
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally to support large enterprise clients
  • Strong technical background covering database replication, cloud infrastructure, and data replication technologies
  • Experience with modern data analytics technologies, including cloud data warehouses, transformation tooling, data catalogs, and BI tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Kafka, and Grafana
  • Familiarity with Linux, Windows, and Python
  • Experience working with enterprise clients in a sales engineering role
  • Strong understanding of data analytics and business intelligence concepts
