About the Role

The Senior Sales Engineer role at Fivetran is a key position that requires a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen. As a member of the Enterprise, Strategic Existing Business sales team, you will work closely with sales teams to understand complex business needs and showcase how Fivetran's data replication solutions can drive business outcomes. You will be responsible for providing technical expertise, identifying technical requirements, and supporting a regimented proof-of-value process throughout the sales cycle.

Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies, and this role is crucial to the company's continued success. You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who are passionate about making data access simple and reliable.

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include working with Enterprise customers to understand their business, use cases, and data replication requirements. You will also develop and deliver technical presentations to Enterprise audiences and ensure the technical win by running a tight proof-of-value process.

What You Will Do

  • Work with Enterprise customers to understand their business, use cases, and data replication requirements
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations to Enterprise audiences
  • Ensure the technical win by running a tight proof-of-value process
  • Work cross-functionally with internal counterparts to build and maintain a holistic account ownership plan
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key Enterprise customers and partners
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the industry
  • Work closely with Fivetran's Product and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of solutions to Enterprise customer needs
  • Identify technical requirements and provide solutions to meet customer needs
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop and execute sales strategies

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in data replication, sales engineering, or a related technical field
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally to support large enterprise customers
  • Strong technical background covering database replication, cloud infrastructure, and data replication technologies
  • Experience with modern data analytics technologies, including cloud data warehouses, transformation tooling, data catalogs, and BI tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working with AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Kafka, and Grafana
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

  • Experience with Linux, Windows, and Python
  • Knowledge of data integration and data governance
  • Experience working with large datasets and data warehousing
  • Certification in sales engineering or a related field
