Job Description

## About the Role The Senior Sales Engineer position at Fivetran is a pivotal role that bridges the gap between sales and technology, focusing on data replication solutions for enterprise customers. This role is part of the Enterprise, Existing Business sales team and requires working closely with the sales team to understand complex business needs and demonstrate how Fivetran's solutions can meet those needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.

The day-to-day responsibilities will include providing technical expertise, identifying technical requirements, and supporting the proof-of-value process throughout the sales cycle. This role is full-time and remote, with a preference for candidates based in the US, particularly in Central and East Coast timezones.

As part of Fivetran's team, the Senior Sales Engineer will be instrumental in driving the technical win by running a tight proof-of-value process and working closely with Fivetran's Product and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of solutions with enterprise customer needs.

## What You Will Do - Work with Enterprise customers to understand their business, use cases, and data replication requirements.

  • Develop and maintain a holistic account ownership plan by working cross-functionally with internal counterparts, including AEs, Professional Services, BDRs, marketing, and support.
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations to Enterprise audiences, showcasing Fivetran's data replication solutions.
  • Ensure the technical win by running a proof-of-value process tailored to each customer's specific needs.
  • Collaborate with Fivetran’s Product and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of solutions to Enterprise customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key Enterprise customers and partners, providing them with the necessary support and solutions to achieve their business outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the data replication and sales engineering fields, applying this knowledge to improve customer solutions and sales strategies.
  • Participate in sales calls, product demos, and other sales-related activities to support the sales team and drive revenue growth.
  • Analyze customer feedback and market trends to identify areas for improvement in Fivetran's solutions and services.
## What We Are Looking For - 5+ years of experience in data replication, sales engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally to support large enterprise customers, with a strong understanding of their complex business needs.
  • Strong technical background covering database replication, cloud infrastructure, and data replication technologies.
  • Experience with modern data analytics technologies, including cloud data warehouses, transformation tooling, data catalogs, and BI tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with technologies such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Kafka, and Grafana.
  • Ability to travel for customer meetings and industry events (when applicable).
## Nice to Have - Experience with Linux, Windows, and Python, and familiarity with database management systems.
  • Knowledge of data engineering principles and practices, including data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Certification in relevant technologies or sales engineering methodologies.
  • Previous experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.
