About the Role
As a Senior Sales Engineer at Fivetran, you will be the technical backbone of the enterprise sales team, responsible for understanding complex business needs and showcasing how Fivetran's data replication solutions can drive desired business outcomes. You will work closely with the sales team to provide technical expertise, identify functional and technical requirements, and support a rigorous proof-of-value process throughout the sales cycle. Your day-to-day will involve developing and delivering technical presentations, running proof-of-value processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of Fivetran's solutions with enterprise customer needs.The Senior Sales Engineer role is critical in driving Fivetran's enterprise sales efforts, requiring a unique blend of technical, business, and interpersonal skills. What You Will Do
- Work with enterprise customers to understand their business requirements, use cases, and data replication needs
- Develop and deliver functional and technical presentations to enterprise audiences
- Ensure technical win by running a tight proof-of-value process
- Collaborate with Fivetran's Product, Post-Sales Services, Support, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of solutions with enterprise customer needs
- Develop and maintain relationships with key enterprise customers and partners
- Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the data replication and sales engineering industries
- Provide technical guidance and support to the sales team
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and prospective customers
- Work closely with the sales team to develop and execute account plans
- Participate in sales calls, meetings, and presentations to provide technical expertise and support
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience selling IT services or products in an enterprise or similarly complex environment
- Working knowledge of at least one relational database management system (RDBMS) such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DB2, or Sybase
- Experience interacting with databases (e.g., basic troubleshooting, basic knowledge of logging/archiving, or basic installation/administration)
- Working knowledge of at least one cloud data warehouse platform (CDW)
- Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Post-Sales Services, Support, and Engineering teams to align solutions with enterprise customer requirements
- Strong technical sales and presentation skills
- Ability to travel 20%+
- Experience with data replication, integration, or related technologies
- Strong understanding of enterprise software sales and the sales process
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Kafka, Grafana, API, Linux, Windows, Python, Java, or RDBMs
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security
- Experience working with enterprise customers in the technology, finance, or healthcare industries
- Certification in sales engineering, data replication, or a related field
