What You Will Do

  • Partner with the sales team to articulate the overall Datadog value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers
  • Own technical engagement with customers during the trial phase, communicating Datadog's value based on activities and working with customers to address any identified issues or concerns
  • Technically close complex opportunities through advanced competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility
  • Deliver product and technical briefings/presentations to potential clients
  • Maintain accurate notes and feedback in CRM regarding customer input, including wins and losses
  • Proactively engage and communicate with customers and Datadog business/technical teams regarding product feedback and competitive landscape
  • Collaborate with the product team to provide input on product development and priorities
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Datadog's products and services, including technical architecture and competitive landscape
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and customer success teams

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in sales engineering or a related field, with a strong technical background in programming languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.JS, PHP, and .NET
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to understand and articulate both the business benefits and technical advantages of Datadog's products and services
  • Experience working with customers to understand their technical requirements and provide tailored solutions
  • A strong understanding of the technical sales process, including prospecting, demoing, and closing deals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on results and customer satisfaction
  • Experience working with CRM systems and other sales tools
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with cloud-based technologies and platforms, such as AWS or Azure
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Experience working with data analytics and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
  • A strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices, including threat modeling and vulnerability assessment
