About the Role
The Senior Sales Manager for Data Centers at GE Vernova will play a pivotal role in driving the company's commercial objectives in the power stability solutions sector. As a key member of the sales team, this individual will be responsible for leading a team of commercial, engineering, legal, and project execution professionals to achieve sales targets. With a focus on power quality, energy storage, and industrial electrification solutions, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and execute commercial strategies that drive business growth and expand GE Vernova's market presence.The role requires a deep understanding of the data center market and its unique challenges, including the need for reliable and efficient power supply systems. The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers in the industry, including data center developers, power developers, and independent power producers. By providing tailored solutions that meet the specific needs of each customer, the successful candidate will be able to drive sales growth and establish GE Vernova as a trusted partner in the data center sector.
As a remote role, the Senior Sales Manager will be expected to work independently, using their initiative and commercial judgment to drive sales outcomes. With a high level of autonomy, this individual will be responsible for managing their own schedule, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines. The role will also require extensive travel across North America, up to 50% of the time, to meet with customers, attend industry events, and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute commercial strategies for sales of stability solutions for data centers in North America
- Own the accurate forecasting of orders and convertible orders for the account package and reflect that in Salesforce.com
- Manage relationships on a day-to-day basis and provide transactional support to customers
- Coordinate with selected GE Vernova businesses' sales personnel across the region to implement joint account strategies and close synergy orders
- Develop and execute an overall growth strategy with integrated plays for GE across the region
- Develop strategic customer relationships with key decision-makers in support of the sales team's strategic direction
- Drive identification, prospecting, and creation of new sales opportunities
- Support customers in sales activities and provide assistance in identifying new opportunities
- Coordinate activities and provide leadership to establish individual sales strategies, obtaining appropriate approvals for pricing and delivery
- Negotiate contracts as required
- Maintain knowledge of market trends, competitive actions, product needs, and customer base
- Work with Marketing to develop project-specific sales strategies for assigned customers
- Provide feedback to the leadership team to drive continued growth
- Manage expenses within a given budget
- Own the accounts in the region, responsible for maintaining relationships at all levels of the organization, developing and monitoring growth plans, marketing programs, and training
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Sales, Commercial Operations, Engineering, or Technical Engineering
- Minimum of 4 years of experience within the Power Developer and Utilities Markets
- Experience with Data Center Markets and Portfolios
- Strong commercial judgment and sales acumen
- Ability to develop and execute commercial strategies
- Experience with Salesforce.com
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time across North America
Nice to Have
- Prior sales success in Battery Storage, Data Center Power Management, or hybrids
- Experience and familiarity with Power Stability Solutions, Gas Turbines, Battery Storage, Grid Connection, and Islanded Grids
- Successful sales leadership experience with high-value, high-price system sales to senior leadership
- In-depth knowledge of the battery storage application
